2-Day Corporate Event Photography | JW Marriott & Radisson Blu MOA
This two day corporate event was held at the JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America and Radisson Blu Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. I've intentionally removed logos and names as per their preference. The decor and set up were stunning. I'm happy to share this sampling.
On the first afternoon and evening I was covering, this company had an all company meeting at JW Marriott. Following the meeting was a state fair themed after party/social event at Radisson Blu. Event Lab decorated and staffed this portion with carnival games, putt putt golf, gourmet cotton candy, and so on. Entertainment was also provided by the ever-impressive Pop ROCKS band, as well as DJ Jake Rudh of Transmission Music.
The second day of coverage was the formal evening affair back at the JW Marriott. This was the company's Awards Presentation, dinner, and after party for the management team and nominees. My objectives included photographing the room and decor, pre-event cocktail hour, the awards ceremony, on-stage portraits of the recipients receiving and then posing with their awards, and candids and groups of people (aka "smile files" aka "grab and grins") throughout the evening.
Trish of Sweet Shibui, my incredibly wonderful and talented photographer-friend joined me as the evening's designated "Step and Repeat" photographer. I set up lighting and Trish photographed groups of people. Interested attendees could enjoy this optional, fun perk. The company provided a large branded backdrop (with their logo) for this portion. It's worth discussing the backdrop and set up ahead of time (larger groups of people can fit on a larger backdrop or natural wall). The Step & Repeat was well-attended and got increasingly more energetic as the evening went on.
Are you looking for a photographer for your corporate event or meeting or party? I'd love to touch base and answer any questions you may have. There is so much room for customization, flexibility, and tailoring to your company's needs, preference, and priorities. For example, do you want the whole event covered, or would just an hour or two at the most visually appealing portion be enough? Do you want lots of smile files, or would your attendees be more comfortable with more subtle candids? Please don't hesitate to reach out and we can start the conversation!
