Martyna & Steve | St. Paul Como Dockside Wedding | Plus Fall Minneapolis Engagement Session

St. Paul Como Dockside was the perfect choice of venue for this beautiful wedding!

Martyna and Steve had the most perfect July day for their wedding in St. Paul last year.  These two are simply adorable together.  They met across the world from each other through a running website.  Martyna was in Poland and Steve in America when a friendship bloomed, then a relationship, and now they're in the same place at the same time and MARRIED!

Martyna and Steve got engaged at Minnehaha Falls during a Minnesota winter, and that's where we did their June engagement session (engagement session images at the end of this post), a month before their wedding.  The couple traveled to Poland for a wedding celebration there, and then had this one here last July.  Martyna's parents visited from Poland and were getting to know Minnesota and Steve's family in the weeks around the wedding celebration.

Martyna, Steve, and I were all in agreement that lots of bride and groom portrait time is ideal!  There was such pretty light and lovely locations around Como Lake and the Como Dockside restaurant.  This is one of my favorite parts of a wedding day - photographing the bride and groom before the festivities really kick off, when the day is fresh and new and exciting and they get to spend it all together.

I love this couple's whimsical, soft, muted, simple style.  Martyna's dress and their rings are from Poland.  And can we talk about that flower crown (by Fleur de Lis Fresh Flowers)?!  While the couple, my assistant Jenny, and I were walking between portrait spots, Jenny heard a little girl say "Look!  There's a princess in the woods!"  That sums it up perfectly, yes?
