Strikes For Kids with the Minnesota Vikings | MN Event Photography
My first exposure to the Minnesota Vikings this year was for the non-profit event Strikes for Kids, where some of the Vikings team members joined kids and their families for bowling and pizza at the Brunswick Zone XL in Brooklyn Park. Xavier Rhodes hosted the fundraiser, joined by teammates Anthony Barr, Andrew Sendejo, Captain Munnerlyn, and Harrison Smith. How fun to be a kid surrounded by these real life athletes. It was really nice to see the players' signing autographs, chatting, and taking pictures with their little Big Fans!
Joe Allen, founder of Strikes For Kids, sent this info: We are a 501 c(3) nonprofit organization that partners more than 125 NFL players from all 32 NFL teams with benefiting youth organizations and enriching the lives of students in communities across the United States. Strikes For Kids coordinates charity bowling, softball and golf events. Our events allow fans, families and local businesses an opportunity to come together to make an impact in the community while having fun. Proceeds from the event will go to benefiting The Strikes For Kids Scholarship Program which uses funds raised from events to assist local high school seniors in the form of scholarships ranging from $250-$1,000. This money helps the students with the costs of books and essentials needed in their first year of college. Strikes For Kids' headquarters is based in California, but 100% of the proceeds raised from this fundraiser will stay in the Hennepin County."
