Jennifer and Charlie celebrated their union and the blending of their families with a September wedding at the classic Lafayette Club in Minnetonka Beach. What a lovely day filled with friendships and relationships that go back decades. The support and love this couple's family and friends have for them was so visible throughout their celebration. A true testament to how strong and thoughtful these two are individually, and how loving a relationship they create together.
Both Jennifer and Charlie have one daughter and one son. It was the officiant's idea during the ceremony - a great idea! - to have Charlie walk down the aisle with his son and daughter, and then have Jennifer walk down with her son and daughter. Then, once at the front of the aisle, Jennifer's son and Charlie's daughter switched sides, hugging everyone along the way, so that the sons ended up on Charlie's side and the daughters ended up on Jennifer's side. A wonderful visual of the mutual support, love, and merging of two families.
It's so heartwarming to really be able to see the happiness pouring out of couples on their wedding day. What a treat to watch all the nerves, to-do's and worries just melt away when a couple is together. Because Jennifer and Charlie didn't see each other before their late-afternoon ceremony, they were really ready to get this marriage ball rolling! Charlie was so stunned and visibly moved by the sight of his bride, and I hadn't seen Jennifer smile so widely until she was by his side. Melts my heart!
It was important to these two that their friend groups and wedding guests were well documented. We'd planned time for an "Old Hood" photo, which included everyone from Jennifer's old neighborhood - they'd all bonded over the years they were all raising little kids and having weekly happy hours and bonfires. A few other groups were on the list as well, including some ladies that became friends in high school, nearly four decades earlier!
Overall, a lovely celebration through and through!
