6.18.16 Katie & Brad | Golden Valley Golf & Country Club | Minnesota Wedding Photography

Katie and Brad celebrated their wedding day with a ceremony at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church, wedding party portraits near Theodore Wirth Park, and a reception at the Golden Valley Golf and Country Club. And it was beautiful - all of it! These two were just so fun and cute and easy going, game to brave the hot weather to get gorgeous outdoor portraits following their first sight at the Country Club. Family and wedding party portraits were there as well, then we moved to the church for the ceremony. The party bus trucked the wedding party and their significant others to Thompson Park for some fun group shots while the cocktail hour got underway. Then their reception: beautiful decor, an awesome team (I got to see an old vendor friend leading the charge, and knew these guys were in good hands!), heartfelt speeches (so many great candids from the speeches!), and a super fun dance floor. The finale at the end of the night - where the couple and I go outside for one last mini portrait session to close out their book and image collection - was just stunning, right at sunset and with no lack of greenery - love it! Check out Katie and Brad's St. Paul engagement session at Thompson Park from last year's late summer/early fall. I love having the opportunity to photograph people more in their every day life, and then on their wedding day. Not only does it create variety and can incorporate pets, kids, or other important priorities, but the couple also gets a feel for what the "light direction" I use feels like. Then, too, we get to know each other better leading up to the wedding. Because your photographer spends more time with you on your wedding day than possibly even your spouse (crazy but true, right?!), it's so important to feel comfortable around them. Then of course the images speak to that comfort and confidence!
